Arna-Bjørnar Fotball is a Norwegian football club from Bergen . The sporting figurehead of the club is the women's football team, which plays top series in the highest Norwegian league .
history
In 1996 Bjørnar IL's women's team rose to the top series for the first time. The team was able to establish itself quickly in the league and was never in serious danger of relegation. In 2000 the club reached the cup final, where they lost 4-1 against Asker SK . After the season the company merged with Arna TIL and has been called Arna-Bjørnar Fotball ever since.
In the very first season after the merger, the team took third place in the league. This is the best league placement to date. In 2002 they reached the cup final for the second time. Against Trondheims-Ørn SK they lost 4: 3 after extra time. Two years later, the descent had to be accepted. The immediate resurgence was achieved and in the 2006 season they finished fifth.
The team is coached by Morten Kalvenes. The team plays their home games in the Arna Stadium. The club colors are red, white and black.
