The Toppserien 2020 is the 34th season of the highest women's football league in Norway . The season began on July 3 and ends on November 15, 2020. The start originally planned in March had to be postponed to July 3 due to the Covid 19 pandemic . Lillestrøm SK Kvinner started the season again as defending champion . Trondheims-Ørn SK competes under the name Rosenborg Ballklub Kvinner from this season .

mode

The game is played in a double round with a return leg. After reducing the league to ten participants, it was planned to split up the league following this series. The first four of the table should play out the champions among themselves in a further double round, the last six determine the two relegated teams together with the first two teams of the 1st division. Due to the delayed start, the simple double round with 18 game days remains.
