Elise Hove Thorsnes (born August 14, 1988 in Leikanger ) is a Norwegian soccer player who has played for Lillestrøm SK Kvinner in the top series since 2019 and for the Norwegian national team since 2006.

Career

Thorsnes went through all youth national teams, where she played in a few years for several grades. She gained her first tournament experience in 2005 with the U-21 team at the Nordic Cup , in which Norway took fifth place and she was used in three games. In 2007 she reached the semi-finals of the U-19 European Championship with the U-19 team, in which Norway lost to England. She made her first international match on May 10, 2006 against Serbia and Montenegro as part of the World Cup qualification . However, it was not taken into account for the World Cup. At the Olympic football tournament in Beijing in 2008 she reached the quarter-finals with Norway and in 2009 she took part in the 2009 European Women's Football Championship in Finland , but was eliminated there in the semi-finals. In 2010 it was used in several World Cup qualifiers , including a. the playoff games against Ukraine . Also in 2011 she was considered and appointed to the squad for the World Cup. In the preliminary round from the Norwegian team, she was used in all three games. In the last game against Australia , she scored the 1-0 opening goal for Norway in the 56th minute. With this result, Norway would have reached the quarter-finals. However, the Australians managed to equalize by return of post, which brought Norway back under pressure. Since there were no further goals for Norway, instead Australia scored the 2-1 shortly before the end, Norway was eliminated for the first time in a World Cup preliminary round. After the end of the 2017 season, she played for Canberra United in the Australian W-League in the southern summer of 2017/18 and then in the northern summer of 2018 for Utah Royals FC in the NWSL .
