Lene Mykjåland (born February 20, 1987 , in Kristiansand , Norway ) is a Norwegian former soccer player who last played for Lillestrøm SK Kvinner from 2013 to 2016 and for the Norwegian women's national soccer team from 2007 to 2016 .

Career

Mykjåland won the double (championship and cup) three times with Røa IL in Norway, then switched to women's professional soccer at Washington Freedom in 2010 . After a year she returned to Røa IL and again won the Norwegian championship in 2011. From 2013 to 2016 she played for Lillestrøm SK Kvinner . With Lillestrøm, she took part in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 UEFA Women's Champions League , where they were eliminated in the round of 16 and the last sixteen.

National teams

She took part with the U-19 team at the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2003 , in which the team failed in the final against France. In 2005 she reached the final of the Nordic Cup with the U-21 team, in which they were defeated by the USA. In 2006 it was enough to finish 5th in the Nordic Cup.

On March 7, 2007, at the age of 20, she made her first international A match at the Algarve Cup against Germany. She was in the Norwegian squad for the 2007 World Cup, where she was used in the three group games, and the Beijing Olympics, where she played two group games. In 2009 she came to no missions, in 2010 she was used again at the Algarve Cup, in which Norway finished sixth. She scored two goals in a 14-0 win against Macedonia in World Cup qualification. She was in the squad for the 2011 World Cup in Germany. In the preliminary round from the Norwegian team, she was used in two games. At the EM 2013 , in which Norway was runner-up, it was only used in the first game against Iceland .

She was also part of the squad for the 2015 World Cup and was used in all four games, but was eliminated with her team in the round of 16.

After the World Cup, it was used in the qualification for the 2017 European Championships and the Olympic qualification . She played her 91st and last game against Wales on June 7, 2016 .

After the 2016 season, she ended her career.
