Olympic games
For the 2012 Olympic Games , the four British Football Associations agree that an all-British team should automatically represent the host country (on behalf of the Olympic Committee of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) as an automatically qualified team. In contrast to the men's team, which was led by Welshman Ryan Giggs , no Welsh players were appointed to the squad.
Algarve Cup
The national team first took part in the Algarve Cup in 2002 , but always played in Group C against the weaker teams.
