The Cypriot national women's football team represents the Republic of Cyprus in international women's football . The selection is subject to the Cyprus Association.

The team was inactive from May 2006 to January 2013, during which time the association focused on the two junior selection teams in order to create a better trained player base. Before that, the team was not very successful; it had lost each of its five games and had not yet entered a competition.

On March 22, 2013, the team was included in the FIFA world rankings for the first time and was ranked 104th. As many teams outside of Europe had not been active for a long time and were therefore out of the ranking, the Republic of Cyprus climbed to 97th place in December 2013.

Friendly matches

In 2002 there were three friendlies against Greece, all of which were lost. In 2006 there were two more international matches: a home game against Israel was lost 6-1, a game in Slovakia ended in a 6-0 defeat.

On January 12, 2013, a game took place in Paphos after a break of almost seven years, which ended against Malta with the first point win (1-1).

Youth teams

In 2007, the U-17 team was the first time a Cypriot women's team took part in an international competition. There is now also a U-19 team. These two youth teams will initially also be looked after by Chrysostomos Iakovou. The U-19 team currently trained by Tziovana Chartoupallou took part in the qualification for the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2013 , but failed in the first qualifying round. The Republic of Cyprus had also registered a team for the 2014 U-19 European Football Championship .

Tournament balance sheet

The Republic of Cyprus has not yet participated in a women's competition. The team has not yet participated in the Cyprus Cup , which has been held annually in March in the Republic of Cyprus since 2008 . Also for the World Cup qualifiers in 2015 , the European Championship qualifier in 2017 and the World Cup qualifiers in 2019 , no team has been reported. However, since 2016 the Cyprus Association has been organizing the Aphrodite Cup, which takes place shortly after the Cyprus Cup and in which some of the weakest European teams take part.

From August 2019, the team will take part in a qualifying competition for the first time, the qualification for the 2021 European Women's Football Championship .
