The Andorran women's national football team represents Andorra in international women's football . The selection played its first official games in early July 2014 as part of the so-called UEFA Development Tournament in Gibraltar .

history

Since Victor Santos was elected as the new President of the Andorran Football Association in 2013, the association has been driving the development of women's football; on December 11, 2013 the first training took place under Joan Carles Ruiz. On January 23, 2014, the first test match against the Spanish club CF Pardinyes , which was lost 6-0.

UEFA Development Tournament

In the first game against the hosts on July 1, they won 1-0 with a goal from Alba López. This was also the first international match for Gibraltar since joining UEFA. The very next day you had to compete against the internationally much more experienced Luxembourgers ; the game was lost 4-0. Two days later there was an unofficial game against an Algarve selection, which was won 2-0 by goals from López and Teresa Morató.

In April 2015, Andorra took part in the qualification for the European Championship 2017 and met Georgia (result: 0: 7), the Faroe Islands (0: 8) and Malta (3: 5), the hosts , in the first round of the eight weakest teams of the mini-tournament was. The three defeats meant last place.
