The Luxembourg women's national football team represents Luxembourg in international women's football . The national team is subordinate to the Luxembourg Football Association and has existed since June 2003. The team will be coached by Daniel Santos from summer 2020.
In 2006 the team took part for the first time in the qualification for a major tournament (the 2009 European Women's Football Championship ). The 4-2 win over Malta was the first victory of the Luxembourg selection and after that, Luxembourg finished 60th in the best place in the FIFA world rankings. After that, the team fell partially from the ranking and was listed in 117th place because too few games were played. The team is currently ranked 89th.
In the pre-qualification for the European Championship 2013 , the team took third place in the group at the tournament in Macedonia .
In the run-up to the 2011 World Cup , Luxembourg played for the first time against a non- UEFA team. The game against World Cup participants Equatorial Guinea was lost 8-0.
In the pre-qualification for the 2015 World Cup , the team could not prevail for the actual qualification at the tournament in Malta and only won a point in the 0-0 win against Latvia.
In the pre-qualification for the 2017 European Championship , the team took the last place in the group at the tournament in Moldova . Also in the pre-qualification for the 2019 World Cup , they finished last without points.
