Amy Lan Thompson (born July 28, 1994 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourgish football player .
Career
Thompson started her career in the youth of FC Progrès Niederkorn . For the 2010/11 season she moved up to the first team and was Luxembourg champion in her first professional season. In 2012 she left FC Progrès Niederkorn and joined the German second division club SV Bardenbach at the beginning of 2013 . Thompson played seven games in the 2nd Bundesliga South for Bardenbach in the second half of the season, before moving to the former Bundesliga club 1. FC Saarbrücken . Since summer 2015 she has been studying at Stony Brook University in the USA and plays for the Stony Brook Seawolves . After performing well, she was voted “Player of the Year” at her university in 2016. Thompson returned to Luxembourg in January 2017 and has been on hiatus since then. On August 3, 2017, she was presented as the new assistant coach of the women's team at FC Progrès Niederkorn. In the summer of 2018, she ended her break from playing and is back in the Dames Ligue 1 for FC Progrès Niederkorn .
International
In March 2011, the striker made her first three appearances for the Luxembourg national team as part of the European Championship qualification tournament in Strumica and scored in the game against Lithuania. Thompson scored the honorary goal at 1: 5 in the friendly against Wales .
