The FC Jeunesse Canach is a football club in the Luxembourg village of Canach .

history

The club was founded in 1930 under the name FC Fortuna Canach . With the beginning of the Second World War it dissolved. After the end of the war it was re-established in 1946, but was dissolved again seven years later. In 1957 the re-establishment followed under the current name. For years the club shuttled between the first and second division with four promotions to the 1st division and a few relegations to the 3rd division, before advancing to the honorary doctorate for the first time in the club's history in the 2004/05 season. After four seasons, the promotion to the national division surprisingly succeeded; it was made perfect on May 16, 2010 with a win over Wiltz .

After a year in the national division in the 2010/11 season , they went back to the honorary doctorate with a 14th and last place . In the following season the immediate rise succeeded. In 2015 he was again relegated to an honorary doctorate.

In the Coupe de Luxembourg , the club reached the semi-finals for the first time in 2014/15, where they lost 3-2 to the eventual winners FC Differdingen 03 . Before that, the quarter-finals in 2010 and 2011 were the cup’s greatest success.

1st team

FC Jeunesse Canach set a negative record when they lost their first eleven games in the 2010/11 season . The negative series was stopped with a 2: 1 against Fola Esch . The Stade Rue de Lenningen has neither floodlights nor seats. Patrick Maurer resigned after 18 years as a coach in the club during the 2015/16 winter break. His successor was Oseias Ferreira. In October 2016, Ferreira was fired and Maurer returned as a coach.

Youth work

The Canach youth could not celebrate any great successes. As the club is in a village, it is difficult to find enough young players. That is why the association works with Syra Mendorf and Koeppchen Wormeldingen in the Scolaires and Cadets age groups. Every year a soccer camp takes place in Canach, in which up to 80 children take part.

2nd team

The 2nd team has been top notch for three years. She won the trophy twice in a row and almost made the triple.

Women's team

The women's team was formed in the 2006/07 season and was able to celebrate successes quickly. They rose to the first division. 16-year-old Sophie Maurer played a major role in the rise with 84 goals. In the 2010/11 season, the women's team rose again. Sophie Maurer is now a national player at the age of just 17. Since the 2011/12 season, the women's team has played in a game association with Bous and promptly won their first national title (indoor futsal champions 2012). In 2014, the Entente Canach / Remich / Bous made it back to the first division and won the Luxembourg soccer cup as a second division with a 4-0 win against national champions SC Ell.
