The FC Mondercange ( lux. : FC Monnerech French, .: FC Mondercange) is a Luxembourg football club Monnerich .
history
The association was founded in 1933 under its current name. During the German occupation in World War II from 1940, the club was called FK Monnerich . In 1944 it was renamed FC Mondercange . In 1998 he was promoted to the top division of Luxembourg for the first time. This belonged to FC Monnerich without interruption until 2004. The direct resurgence in 2006 was followed by relegation in the following season. In the 2008/09 season they celebrated the third rise in the club's history.
The FCM reached the national cup final twice in a row, but lost both times to the Luxembourg record champions Jeunesse Esch with 0: 3 (1999) and 1: 4 (2000). Due to the participation of Jeunesse Esch in the qualification for the UEFA Champions League , FC Monnerich took part in the qualification for the UEFA Cup in 1999 .
