The FC Blo-Wäiss Medernach is a Luxembourg football club from Medernach .

The club plays its home games at the Bloen Eck stadium .

history

The association was founded in 1948. The first game took place on August 15, 1948 against FC Bastendorf and ended 4: 4. As early as 1952 Medernach rose to the fourth class 2nd division for the first time and managed to march through to the third class 1st division. Due to a reorganization of the leagues, the club fell back into the fifth division in 1957.

From 1970, the blue-whites rose continuously to the honorary doctorate , to which they belonged from 1975 to 1978 and in the 1980/81 season. Subsequently, the club sank in the lowlands of Luxembourg football, until 2010 succeeded in returning to fourth division. In 2016 he was promoted to the 1st division. With a 3-1 win after extra time in the barrage game against FC 72 Erpeldingen , the 11th of the honorary doctorate, in 2019, after almost 40 years, the promotion to the second highest division was achieved.

Cup competitions

In the Coupe de Luxemburg , FC Blo-Wäiss never got past the third round.

In the Coupe FLF , the national cup competition for clubs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd division (third to fifth division), the Medernacher advanced to the semi-finals in the 2015/16 season, which the club won against Alisontia Steinsel with 2: 3 lost. Two years later, the blue-whites reached the final, in which they were defeated by the same opponent 2: 6.
