The Football Club 72 Erpeldingen ( Luxembourg : FC 72 Ierpeldeng ) is a Luxembourg football club from Erpeldingen an der Sauer . The club colors are black and orange.
history
The association was founded on October 8, 1971. Since participating in regular game operations in 1972, the club rose continuously to the second highest Luxembourg league .
At the end of the 2008/09 season Erpeldingen played 3rd in the honorary doctorate in a barrage game against US Rümelingen , 12th in the BGL Ligue , for promotion to the top Luxembourg division, but lost 2-0.
With a 5-6 defeat after a penalty shoot-out in the barrage game against Union Mertert-Wasserbillig , Erpeldingen was relegated from the honorary doctorate at the end of the 2015/16 season after twelve years of service. After only one year, FC 72 succeeded in being promoted again immediately as champions of the 1st Division - 1st District .
In 2019, under coach Charles Leweck , another relegation to the third division followed.
