The FC Alisontia Steinsel is a Luxembourg football club from Steinsel .
history
The association was founded in 1933 under its current name. During the German occupation of Luxembourg in World War II , the club was forcibly renamed SpVgg Steinsel . In 1944 it was renamed FC Alisontia .
With the exception of the years 1949 to 1955, the club never came out of the fourth class. Only in 2009 succeeded in returning to the third-class 1st division for one season. After the renewed promotion to the third highest division, Alisontia reached the runner-up in 2016 straight away. This was equivalent to reaching the barrack game against the 11th of the honorary doctorate . There Avenir Beggen prevailed with 4: 1. After two third places, Alisontia achieved promotion to the second highest division for the first time in 2019.
Cup competitions
In the Coupe de Luxemburg , Alisontia never got past the fourth lap. In the 2017/18 season, Steinsel won the Coupe FLF , the national cup competition for clubs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd division (third to fifth division), with a 6-2 win against FC Blo-Wäiss Medernach .
