IC 658 is a cD galaxy of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 459 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years across .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3462 and NGC 3477 .
The object was discovered on April 19, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
