IC 660 is an elliptical galaxy of the Hubble type E3-4 with an active galaxy core in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 543 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 145,000 light years in diameter .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 661 and IC 662 .
The object was discovered on March 11, 1893 by Stéphane Javelle .
