IC 650 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sc / P in the constellation Water Snake south of the ecliptic . It is an estimated 355 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter . 
The galaxies NGC 3421 , NGC 3402 , IC 647 are in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on April 21, 1892 .
