The Sporting Club Ell is a Luxembourg football club from Ell .

history

The club was founded in 1920 as Sporting Club Ell . In 1939 it was dissolved before the German occupation of Luxembourg . From 1946 to 1950 it was run as FC 46 Ell and then dissolved again. In 1971 it was re-established under the old name.

The club plays its home games on the "Um Essig" terrain, which can hold 1,000 spectators.

Women's soccer

The women's soccer team of SC Ell was founded in 2005 and rose to the Dames Ligue 1 for the 2010/11 season . In 2014 the team became Luxembourg champions for the first time. The team did not participate in the following UEFA Women's Champions League qualification . The Coupe des Dames was won in 2012 with a 5: 2 (1: 1) nE against Progres Niederkorn , in 2014 and 2018 you were in the final.

The club's best-known player is the Luxembourg national player Jill De Bruyn .

Men's soccer

Since it was re-established in 1971, the men's team has been commuting between the third (1st division) and fifth division (3rd division) in Luxembourg. In the Coupe de Luxembourg they reached the quarter-finals in 2004/05 as a fourth division and were eliminated 4-5 against the eventual finalists FC Cebra . Also in the Coupe FLF they reached the quarter-finals in 2012, in which they lost to Etoile Sportive Küntzig 2: 4.
