The qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2015 Women was held in 2013 and, 2014. The registered teams played for 23 free places. The field of participants is completed by the host Canada . The best goalscorers were Vivianne Miedema from the Netherlands and Shakira Duncan from Jamaica with 16 goals. Eight teams qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time and thus benefited from the increase to 24 teams.
On June 11, 2012, the FIFA Executive Committee decided to allocate the 24 starting places to the six continental associations:
European Zone / UEFA
mode
46 of the 53 UEFA member associations had registered their national teams to take part in the qualifying matches . With Albania , the Faroe Islands and Montenegro , three countries took part in a World Cup qualification for the first time. A ranking list was first created for the registered teams. This ranking was based on the results of the respective national teams in the qualifications for the European Championship 2009 and the World Championship 2011 .
The eight countries with the lowest coefficients had to contest the pre-qualification. Two groups with four teams each were drawn on December 18, 2012, and between April 4 and 9, 2013 they each played in a mini-tournament for four places in the qualification. On April 16, 2013, the 42 remaining teams were randomly divided into seven groups of six teams each. The seven group winners qualified directly for the world championship. The four best runners-up in the group determined the eighth European participant in two knockout rounds , each with a return leg.

Main qualification
draw
On March 12, 2013 the seeding list for the draw for the group stage of the qualification was determined. The draw took place on April 16, 2013 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon . The 42 participants were drawn into seven groups of six, with one team from Pot A to F being drawn into each group. The pots were allocated according to the UEFA coefficient.
- Pot A: Germany, Sweden, France, England, Norway, Italy, Denmark
- Pot B: Iceland, Finland, Russia, Netherlands, Spain, Scotland, Ukraine
- Pot C: Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Belarus
- Pot D: Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Portugal, Wales, Slovakia, Northern Ireland
- Pot E: Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Israel, Estonia
- Pot F: Kazakhstan, Croatia, Macedonia, Albania, Faroe Islands, Malta and Montenegro
The games took place from September 20, 2013 and should be over by September 17, 2014. The seven group winners automatically qualified for the final round. The four runners-up with the best results against the group winners, thirds, fourths and fifths played the playoffs for the last remaining UEFA place between 25 October and 27 November 2014.
The draw resulted in the following groups:
Group 1
The two strongest teams in the group met in the first game, with Germany causing the Russians their highest international defeat (the old record of 0: 7 was also the result of a game against Germany). After that, Germany met Slovenia for the first time, and the Germans achieved their highest World Cup qualifying victory to date. While Germany is the most frequent opponent of the Russian team, Russia first played against Slovakia in March 2013 and never against Croatia and Slovenia. Neither the Slovaks nor the Slovenes had ever played against Ireland before.
The German team qualified ahead of schedule for the World Cup finals by beating their direct rivals Russia 4-1 on September 13, 2014. Ireland would not have been able to reach the group runners-up play-offs, even if Russia had lost on the last day of the match and Ireland had won against Germany, as there were already four teams that had more points than Ireland could reach before the last day of play. Ireland then failed to win against Germany and since Russia won the last game, the Irish were only third. However, they achieved more points than in previous qualifications. But the victory was of no use to the Russians either, as they had the worse goal difference against the Ukraine. In particular, the first major defeat against Germany could no longer be compensated. Germany was the only team to achieve an average of more than six goals per game.

Group 2
With the game Macedonia against Romania, which met for the first time, the European main qualification began on September 20. Estonia met Italy for the first time on the same day and Estonia had not played against their second opponent Spain before. Macedonia also played against Spain for the first time in this qualifying round. Macedonia also met the Czech Republic for the first time. Spain were the only qualifiers to start with five home games, all of which were won.
Spain qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time on September 13, 2014, as Italy was worse in direct comparison and could not overtake even with a Spanish defeat and a victory for Italy on the last day of the game. The Spaniards are the only team from Pot B that could qualify directly. However, the Italians were second in the group and qualified for the play-offs of the second in the group and on the last matchday they achieved the highest victory in their international history, with Daniela Sabatino scoring six goals alone. In addition, Patrizia Panico set the national record for Elisabetta Vignotto with her international goals 106 and 107 . However, Italy failed in the play-off final due to the Dutch, who qualified for the first time. For Patrizia Panico, the play-off final second leg was the 200th international match of her career. Besides Denmark, Italy is the only team from Pot A that did not qualify.

Group 3
Denmark met Israel, Malta and Serbia for the first time in qualifying. Iceland previously played neither against Israel nor Malta. Apart from Switzerland, Israel has not yet played against any of the other group opponents. Switzerland played against Serbia & Montenegro before but not against Serbia before this qualification, otherwise against all other group opponents. Malta also met Serbia for the first time.
The 1-1 draw between Denmark and Iceland on June 15, 2014 made Switzerland the first European team and for the first time ever to qualify for the finals. Iceland reached second place on the last matchday, but could not reach the play-offs of the group runners-up, as there were already four teams that had more points than Iceland could reach. Switzerland is the only team from Pot C that could qualify, while Denmark is the only team besides Italy from Pot A that did not qualify.

Group 5
Albania, which took part in the qualification for the first time and had not lost any of the eight games played before the draw, had not previously played against any of the group opponents. With the exception of Albania, Norway had already played against all other group opponents and have a positive record against all of them. The Dutch and Portuguese had already played against all other group opponents except Albania and the Dutch only had a negative record against Norway. Belgium met Greece for the first time in qualifying. Norway qualified as the third European team for the World Cup finals on September 13, 2014. The Dutch team secured their participation in the play-offs of the group runners-up by beating Norway on the last day of the game. In the play-offs, the Dutch were able to qualify for the first time with a 2-1 win in the play-off final in Italy, making them the only team from Pot B next to Spain to qualify. 18-year-old Vivianne Miedema was the top scorer in the European qualifying with 16 goals. In the other confederations only one player, Jamaican Shakira Duncan, also scored 16 goals, but did not qualify for the finals. She also scored 14 of the 16 goals in the prequalification.

Group 7
Group winners France before the group game against Austria in Ritzing (October 31, 2013)
For France, the qualification brought an encounter with Kazakhstan for the first time, whereby the French had to travel to Kazakhstan in their first game. The other group opponents have already been played, with only one loss against Finland, but against Hungary and Bulgaria all games without conceding a goal and against Austria always with a single goal. Finland also met Kazakhstan for the first time in the qualification, thus opening this qualification group, and met Bulgaria and Austria for the first time in the further course of the qualification. Both met for the first time. Hungary, on the other hand, is Austria's most frequent opponent, both for women and men, and the balance sheet for Austria is negative for both. Bulgaria is the only group opponent that Kazakhstan has already played against. France qualified early for the World Cup finals on September 13, 2014 by beating their direct rivals Finland. Austria secured second place on the last matchday, as the direct comparison against Finland was to the advantage of the Austrians. However, the points scored were not enough to reach the play-off games of the four best runners-up in the group.
