Domžale ( German : Domschale , older also Domseldorf ) is a town and a municipality in Slovenia near Ljubljana with 12,863 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2008). The entire municipality with its 50 villages and hamlets has 35,278 inhabitants (as of 2008).

Domžale transmitter
A medium wave transmitter of the Slovenian radio has been located in Domžale since 1928 . It broadcasts its program on the medium wave frequency 918 kHz with an output of 600 kilowatts and can be received well in large parts of Europe during the night.
Sports
The football club NK Domžale won the Slovenian Cup in the 2016/17 season and was thus able to qualify for the UEFA Europa League .
The KK DOMŽALE is a basketball club that is based in Domžale. He won the Alpe Adria Cup in 2015/16 and played in the supranational Adriatic Basketball League (ABA League) in the 2016/17 season .
Domžale was one of the venues at the U-17 European Football Championship 2012 (preliminary round, Group A).
