In the village of Videm there is the municipal administration as well as shopping centers, a cinema or a bank. In Predstruge there is a gravel plant and a small train station on the railway line from Grosuplje to Kočevje (Gottschee). The company Iskra operation here once a work for relays.

At the church of Sveti Anton (Sankt Anton) in Zdenska vas you have the most beautiful view of the valley to the south.

The municipality of Dobrepolje has a total of 3711 inhabitants, of which 1749 are male and 1795 female. The average age is 38.31 years.

The 2002 census showed 3396 inhabitants (95.8%) with Slovene as their mother tongue and 21 inhabitants (0.6%) with Serbo-Croatian as their mother tongue. In 69 (1.9%) this was unknown. 2868 or 80.9% of the population are Catholic.
