Dol pri Ljubljani ( German : Lustthal ) is a municipality in the Dolenjska region in Slovenia .

Location and inhabitants

5,861 people live in the total community, which consists of 19 villages and hamlets. The main town Dol pri Ljubljani stands at an altitude of 339 m. The municipality is located 12 km northeast of Ljubljana at the confluence of the three rivers Save , the Kamniška Bistrica and the Ljubljanica .

history

Dol pri Ljubljani was on the Roman road from Vrhnika to Celje . The favorable location on the rivers made it possible to have a harbor for boatmen and raftsmen. The main trades were braiding from straw and making straw hats.
