Vodice (German Woditz, older also Gertrudswald ) is a municipality in the Gorenjska region in Slovenia .
Location and inhabitants
4,384 people live in the total community, which consists of 16 villages. The main town Vodice has 1216 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 339 m. The municipality is located north of Ljubljana .

Attractions
The parish church of Sv. Marjeta was first mentioned in a document in 1118. It is surrounded by a wall to protect it from the attacks of the Ottomans . It was badly damaged in the severe earthquake in the Ljubljana area in 1895, but it was rebuilt.
The current church was founded in 1995.
