Fyli ( Greek Φυλή ) is a municipality in the Greek region of Attica . Parts of the municipality are among the north-western suburbs of the Greek capital Athens . Fyli is named after Demos Phyle , which was located in the area of today's municipality in ancient times . In its current extent, the municipality was formed by the administrative reform in 2010 from three previously independent municipalities.

location

Fili is the easternmost municipality of West Attica , where she attended the ostattischen municipalities Acharnes and northeast of Oropos and medium Greek community Tanagra borders. The neighboring municipality in the west is Aspropyrgos . In the south are Agii Anargyri-Kamatero , Ilio and Petroupoli .

While Ano Liosia and Zefyri are still directly connected to the northwestern suburbs of Athens, the place Fyli itself is located on the southern foothills of the Parnitha . The municipality extends over the main mountain ridge and rises to a maximum of 1160 m.

Administrative division

The community of Fyli, which was formed in 1840 from seven villages of the former municipality of Acharnes and four villages of the dissolved municipality of Chasia, was restructured in 1858. With the exception of the villages of Chasia ( Χασιά ) and Kalyvia Chasias ( Καλύβια Χασιάς ), the other villages were again added to the municipality of Acharnes. The place Kalyvia Chasias was renamed Aspropyrgos in 1899 . Further changes followed in 1912 with the separation of Aspropyrgos into a separate rural community, the downgrading to a rural community and renaming to ( Κοινότητας Χασιάς Kinótita Chasiás ), and in 1915 with the renewed name change of the place and rural community in Fyli. The community survey took place in 1990.

The merger with Ano Liosia and Zefyri was carried out as part of the 2010 administrative reform , the administrative headquarters moved from Fyli to Ano Liosia. The former municipalities have since formed municipal districts.
