Fatmire "Lira" Alushi , née Bajramaj , (born April 1, 1988 in Istok , Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a former German soccer player . The midfielder and striker was part of the German national team .

Life

Alushi was born the second child to a car mechanic and a housewife . She has an older and a younger brother. The family belongs to the Albanian ethnic group and lived in Kosovo in the village of Đurakovac / Gjurakoc near Istog . At that time Kosovo was an autonomous province of the Yugoslav republic of Serbia . As part of the anti-bureaucratic revolution , the autonomy status was lifted in 1989. The family then decided to move to Germany and moved to Remscheid in 1992 . Since 2001 all family members have German citizenship . Alushi initially made the high school and earned thereafter on the night school to high school . After school she began training as a tax clerk , which she dropped out in the second year of her apprenticeship. Since July 1, 2007, she has been a temporary soldier with the Bundeswehr sports promotion group . Your rank is corporal . In August 2012, she got engaged to the football player Enis Alushi, who was also of Albanian origin . On December 10, 2013, she married Alushi and took his last name. In November 2015, she became the mother of a son. In August 2017, she gave birth to their second child, a girl.

Soccer

Career as a club player

DJK / VfL Giesenkirchen / FSC Mönchengladbach

When she was about nine years old, she registered with the DJK / VfL Giesenkirchen football club, but after a few weeks she switched to FSC Mönchengladbach to play her first championship games there from 1997. In the so-called Mönchengladbach talent factory, she went through all junior teams and became a selection player for the FVN and U15 national player. As a seasoned U19 national player, she left the FSC Mönchengladbach in 2004.

FCR 2001 Duisburg (2004 to 2009)

In 2004 the midfielder moved to FCR 2001 Duisburg . On September 5, 2004, Alushi made his Bundesliga debut in a 6-0 away win at VfL Wolfsburg . Her first Bundesliga goal followed on October 31, 2004 in a 5-2 away win against FFC Heike Rheine . With 19 out of 22 possible appearances, she became a regular player straight away. In the 2004/05 season Duisburg was runner-up behind 1. FFC Frankfurt . A year later Duisburg was again runner-up and reached the semi-finals in the DFB Cup . With 14 goals this season Alushi contributed to the renewed runner-up in the 2006/07 season . In addition, she and her team reached the cup final against 1. FFC Frankfurt. Shortly before half-time, she gave the template for the equalizer from Sonja Fuss . The game ended in a draw and was won by Frankfurt on penalties . In 2009 she won the UEFA Women's Cup and the DFB Cup with Duisburg . In the DFB Cup final, she scored the opening goal against her future club.

1. FFC Turbine Potsdam (2009 to 2011)

Alushi joined Corina Schröder when he moved to Potsdam for the 2009/10 season . She played her first competitive game for Turbine on September 20, 2009 in a 3-0 away win at 1. FC Saarbrücken . At the 2010 DFB Indoor Cup , Alushi was voted the best player. With Turbine she won the German championship and the Champions League in 2010 . For 2010 she was third in the choice of world footballer . In 2011 she won the German championship again with Turbine Potsdam, became a footballer in the 2010/11 season and after the season she moved to 1. FFC Frankfurt, which caused resentment among Potsdam's trainer Bernd Schröder.

1. FFC Frankfurt (2011 to 2014)

For the 2011/12 season Alushi moved to 1. FFC Frankfurt. She was the new hope and should replace the departures like Birgit Prinz in the offensive game. At the beginning of the year she was plagued by injury breaks. She first hit her head on the frozen ground in the friendly against Stabæk FK before spraining her ankle in late February. But Alushi couldn't live up to her role. Frankfurt only finished second in the UEFA Women's Champions League and the DFB Cup and missed out on qualifying for the Champions League again in the Bundesliga.

In the 2012/13 season she scored the winning goal against her former club Turbine Potsdam on Matchday 4 . Only a little later, in a duel with Tabea Kemme , she bent over and tore her cruciate ligament . Because of this injury, she was out for the rest of the season.

On May 17, 2014, she won the DFB Cup in Cologne with 1. FFC Frankfurt. On May 1st, 2014, Alushi was bid farewell at 1. FFC Frankfurt .

Paris Saint-Germain (2014 to 2016)

In June 2014 she signed a contract with the French first division partner Paris Saint-Germain . With Paris Saint-Germain she reached the final of the 2014/15 UEFA Women's Champions League , which was lost 2-1 to their former club 1. FFC Frankfurt.

Career as a national player

When a U-15 national team played for the first time in 2003 , Alushi was in the squad. In 2005 she reached the semi-finals of the European Championship with the U-19 national team . On October 20, 2005, she made her senior team debut against Scotland . In summer 2006 she won the European Championship with the U-19 national team . At the U-20 World Cup , she reached the quarter-finals with the German selection. At the end of January 2007, she took part with the German national team in a four-nation tournament in the People's Republic of China . In the game against England she suffered a shoulder and corner joint injury.

In 2007 she took part in the World Cup in China with the German national team. She was used in four games and remained with the team for the entire World Cup without conceding a goal. She was also nominated for the 2008 Summer Olympics . In the game for third place against Japan , Alushi came on in the 62nd minute when the score was 0-0 and was able to score a 1-0 lead seven minutes later. Shortly before the end, she scored the 2-0 and secured the German team the bronze medal.

In 2011 she was the focus of the media during the World Cup in Germany. But she only played in the last preliminary round against France from the start and was substituted on late in the other two preliminary round matches.

After her cruciate ligament rupture , she worked to be able to take part in the 2013 European Championships . Although she had not played a Bundesliga game since her injury, she was appointed to the provisional EM squad by Silvia Neid. In the international test matches on June 15, 19 and 29, 2013 against Scotland, Canada and Japan, she gained match practice through short appearances and on July 14, 2013 , she played her only tournament appearance in Sweden in a 3-0 win against Iceland . On May 8, 2014, she took on a prominent role in the World Cup qualifier against the Slovak national team and made a decisive contribution to the 9-1 victory with three goals in a game for the national team and one goal preparation for the first time.

She was originally nominated for the extended DFB squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada, but canceled her participation on May 15, 2015 because of her pregnancy .

End of career

In late February 2017, she announced that she was giving up her comeback plans and ending her career.
