Tabea Kemme (born December 14, 1991 in Stade ) is a former German soccer player . The defender was most recently under contract with the English first division club Arsenal LFC .

Career

Kemme began her career in 2000 at the age of eight at SG Freiburg / Oederquart with the trainer Inge Bajema. In 2006 she moved to the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam. In 2008 she became German champion with the B-Juniors and had her first appearances in the second team, which played in the 2nd Bundesliga . For the 2008/09 season she moved to the first team squad and made her Bundesliga debut on September 17, 2008. In the game at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , she also scored her first Bundesliga goal.

With Turbine, Kemme won the championship four times and the DFB indoor cup three times . In 2010 she won the Champions League . Kemme reached the final of the DFB Cup twice with a turbine , but it was lost both times. On the third day of the 1st division 2010/11 , she saw the red card in the 23rd minute and was suspended for four games.

Originally, Kemme had played in the storm , but in the U-20 national team she was used in defense . At the club, too, her regular position changed from storm (until 2009) to midfield (until 2011) and defense (since 2011/12 season).

In February 2018 it was announced that Tabea Kemme will not renew her contract. She signed a contract with the English first division club Arsenal LFC.

On January 14, 2020, Kemme announced her early retirement due to a protracted knee injury.

National team

With the U-17 national team , she won the European Championship in 2008 . In the final she was substituted on for Turid Knaak . In the same year she was third at the U-17 World Cup with the DFB selection . Two years later Kemme was with the 20-U National Team World Champion . On April 2, 2013, Kemme was appointed to the squad of the German national A soccer team for the first time , and made her debut on November 27, 2013 in the World Cup qualifier against Croatia .

On May 24, 2015 she was appointed to the final squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada by national coach Silvia Neid .

In 2016, Kemme was accepted into the national team for the women's Olympic football tournament in Brazil and won the gold medal in the final against Sweden. She played all six games and was one of the regular players. For this she received the silver bay leaf on November 1, 2016 .

Kemme was part of the German squad at the European Football Championship in 2017 , but was only used in the group game against Russia after a substitution in the 75th minute.

In 2012, Kemme began studying to become a police commissioner at the Brandenburg Police College , which she successfully completed in September 2017. Kemme completed the practical part in Oranienburg . The theoretical part took place in Potsdam and Oberhavel .
