Turid Knaak (born January 24, 1991 in Essen ) is a German soccer player . She has been under contract with Atlético Madrid since July 2020 .
Career
societies
Turid Knaak's career began at SC Rellinghausen . Via SC Steele 03/20 and SG Essen-Schönebeck , she switched to FCR 2001 Duisburg in 2003 . In 2007 she became German champion with the B-Juniors. In the final against FC Bayern Munich , she scored the decisive goal for the 1-0 victory. For the 2007/08 season she moved up to the squad of the first team and scored one goal in each of her first two Bundesliga games. In the third game she stayed goalless, but scored two goals on the fourth matchday.
For the 2011/12 season, Knaak moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen with a contract valid until 2013 , for whom she made her debut on August 21, 2011 (1st matchday) in the 3-0 defeat by Bayern Munich . During the summer break of 2014, she signed a two-month loan deal with English first division club Arsenal LFC , during which she made four league and three cup appearances. On March 24, 2017, SGS Essen signed Knaak with the start of the 2017/18 season. For the 2020/21 season, she will move to Atlético Madrid as a professional player in the Primera División .
National team
For the U-15 national team , Turid Knaak completed five international matches and scored five goals. This makes her the record scorer in the U-15 selection. With the U-19 national team , she took part in the U-19 European Championship in May 2010 and was the top scorer.
Then she was part of the squad of the U-20 national team , with which she became world champion in her own country in 2010 . On September 30, 2010, she made her debut in the U-23 national team .
On October 15, 2015 Turid Knaak was nominated for the first time for the senior national team , but she only made her debut for this on April 10, 2018 in a World Cup qualifier against Slovenia . She scored her first international goal for the senior national team on June 10, 2018 in Hamilton in a 3-2 friendly win over the national team of Canada with the goal of the final score in the 84th minute with a header. For the 2019 World Cup , she was appointed to the German team by the new national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg .

On October 20, 2015, just five days after her first nomination for the national team, she suffered a fractured tibia and fibula during a training game at PEC Zwolle when the opposing goalkeeper fouled her. The game was then canceled.
