Yanta
The municipality of Yanta ( 雁塔 区 , Yàntǎ Qū ) is a municipality in the sub-provincial city of Xi'an in the Chinese province of Shaanxi . It has an area of 152 square kilometers and has a population of around 610,000. The district of Yanta (literally: "Wild Goose Pagoda") takes its name from the famous Great Wild Goose Pagoda ( Chinese 大 雁塔 , Pinyin Dàyàn Tǎ ), which is an important Buddhist center.
The campuses of the Xi'an University of Architecture and Electrical Engineering , the Xi'an University of Post and Telecommunications and the Xi'an International University are located in the city district, as are the Neolithic Yuhuazhai site (鱼 化 寨 遗址, Yúhuàzhài yízhǐ ) and the Tang Period Huanqiu site (圜丘 遗址, Huánqiū yízhǐ ), both of which have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2013 .
