Lintong

Lintong ( 臨潼 區  /  临潼 区 , Líntóng Qū ) is a municipality in the sub-provincial city of Xi'an in the Chinese province of Shaanxi . It has an area of ​​898 km² and has a population of around 670,000 (2004).

In Litong is the Qin Shihuangdis mausoleum , one of the largest tombs in the world and known for its soldiers, the Terracotta Army. The Xi'an incident site , the ruins of the Huaqing Palace , and the Neolithic settlements of Jiangzhai and Kangjia , all of which are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China, are also in the area.
