Zhouzhi

Zhouzhi ( Chinese  周至 县 , Pinyin Zhōuzhì Xiàn ) is a district of the city of Xi'an in the northwestern Chinese province of Shaanxi . Zhouzhi has an area of ​​2,946 km² and about 670,000 inhabitants (end of 2012). Its main town is the street district Erqu (二 曲 曲).

The south of the district is dominated by the Qin Ling Mountains with the Taibai Shan , Shouyang Shan and Laojundian mountains . Mountainous land occupies 76% of the territory of Zhouzhi and 66% of the area is covered with forest. The north of the district is on the Wei He River . The most important rivers on the territory of Zhouzhi include the Hei He , Gengyu He , Tianyu He , Jiuyu He , Niyu He , Luoyu He or Xinyu He . The 15 main rivers of Zhouzhi drain one billion cubic meters of water annually, 305 million of which are used to supply cities; Zhouzhi is the most important place of origin for water used in Xi'an.

The climate of Zhouzhi is temperate continental with annual average temperatures around 13.2 ° C and 225 frost-free days per year. Annual precipitation is 674 mm.

The National Highway 108 ( Beijing - Kunming ) and the provincial roads 310 and 107 pass through the area of Zhouzhi.

The Fawang Pagoda of the Xianyou Temple (仙游 寺 法王 塔, Xiānyóu sì fǎwáng tǎ ), the Bayun Pagoda (八 云 塔, Bāyún tǎ ), the pagoda of the Daqin Monastery (大秦 寺塔, Dàqín sìtǎ ), and the Neolithic Xiyu site (西 峪 遗址, Xīyù yízhǐ ) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China . The Louguan Tai Daoist Temple is also located in Zhouzhi County. Other attractions for visitors are the Heihe Forest, the Taibai Shan Nature Reserve, the Xianyou Temple , the Tiantai Temple , the Chenghuang Temple , the Dongdong Temple , the Danyang Guan or the Wanshou Gong .
