Melania Gabbiadini (born August 28, 1983 in Calcinate , Bergamo province , Italy ) is an Italian soccer player . The striker is under contract with ASD CF Bardolino and played for the Italian national team , of which she was the team captain until mid-2017.

Gabbiadini played for Atalanta Bergamo between 2000 and 2004 . She has played for Bardolino since 2004 and won the Italian championship three times and the Italian Cup twice. In 2007 and 2008 she took second place in the Serie A goalscorer list .

Gabbiadini played her first international match on April 16, 2003 in a game against the Netherlands . She took part in the European Championships in 2005, 2009 and 2013. On November 22, 2014, she played her 100th international match in the 2015 World Cup qualification playoff final against the Netherlands . After the 2017 European Championship, where she was eliminated with the Italian team in the preliminary round, she ended her national team career with 114 international matches.
