Oberdorf is a municipality in the Waldenburg district of the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland .

Oberdorf is located in the Upper Basel area in the so-called Waldenburgertal on the Vorderen Frenke between Liestal and Waldenburg .

The municipality of Oberdorf borders in the north on Niederdorf , in the east on Bennwil , in the southeast on Langenbruck , in the south on Waldenburg, in the southwest on Liedertswil and in the northwest on Titterten .


The village is on the pass road over the Upper Hauenstein , which connects the cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Solothurn . The Waldenburgerbahn and an overland tram from Waldenburg to Liestal run through the village .
