Bretzwil ( Swiss German : Brätzbel ) is a municipality in the Waldenburg district of the canton of Basel-Landschaft in Switzerland .
geography
Bretzwil is 628 m above sea level. M. in the southern central part of the canton in a depression on the Seebach. It is surrounded on three sides by the canton of Solothurn . Its neighboring communities are Lauwil and Reigoldswil and the Solothurn communities Seewen and Nunningen .
history
Mentioned for the first time in 1194, Braswilere first belonged to the Oberkirch Talk Church near Nunningen and later moved to the Bishop of Basel. In 1377 the "Lords of Brislach" got the village as a fief, changed their name to "Edelknechte von Ramstein", and in 1518 they sold Bretzwil to the city of Basel . It has been in the Waldenburg office since 1673.

traffic
The village lies on the national road from Laufen to Waldenburg and to Grellingen. In addition, the community is served by two postbus lines. You can get to Laufen train station via Nunningen or to the SBB train station Grellingen via Seewen and via Büren to the SBB train station in Liestal. You can also go to Reigoldswil, the Waldenburg train station of the Waldenburgerbahn or get to Liestal .
