Jayne Louise Ludlow MBE (born January 7, 1979 in Llwynypia ) is a former Welsh soccer player and current national coach of the Welsh national women's soccer team . The midfielder played for England club Arsenal LFC and the Welsh national team .

Career

Ludlow started her career on a boys' team before moving to an all-women team. Her father was a professional soccer player. She made her debut for the Welsh national team at the age of 15. In the meantime, Ludlow studied in the USA . In Great Britain she played for Barry Town , Millwall FC and Southampton FC . From 2000 to 2013 she played at Arsenal LFC . She won several titles with Arsenal, including a. the 2007 UEFA Women's Cup and was vice- team captain . In 2003, 2004 and 2005 she was voted "Player of the Year" by the FA Women's Premier League players.

After her active time as a player, she first coached the English club Reading FC Women and the U-16 team of Wales. She became national coach for Wales in October 2014.

Trivia

In her youth she was also a successful track and field athlete . She still holds the British record in the triple jump in the under 17 age group.
