European Championship finals

Norway met Germany and Iceland in preliminary group B as in 2009 and also for the first time at a European Championship against the Netherlands and play all games in the Kalmar Arena in Kalmar . With a draw against Iceland and two 1-0 wins against the Netherlands and Germany, Norway became group winners and met Spain, runner-up in Group C, in the quarter-finals, again playing in Kalmar. In two previous matches there were two wins for Norway and Norway also won the quarter-finals. Norway took the lead after a corner in the 3rd minute. After that, Denmark dominated the game for a long time and came to an equalizer three minutes before the end of regular time. The Danes also made the game in extra time, but could not score and then had to go to penalties as they did against France. There the Norwegians had the better shooters, so that Norway reached the final against Germany, which was lost 0-1, with the German goalkeeper Nadine Angerer able to save two penalties for the Norwegians. Thanks to the EM, Norway moved up one place in the FIFA world rankings to 10th place.
