Leni Larsen Kaurin (born March 21, 1981 in Ålesund ) is a Norwegian football player . The midfielder last played in the 2013 season for the Norwegian top series club Stabæk FK and the Norwegian national team .
Career
Club player
Larsen Kaurin started her career at Skarbøvik. She came to Asker SK in 1998 through Fortuna-Ålesund and Team Strømmen FK . With Asker she was Norwegian champion in 1998 and 1999 and cup winners in 2000 and 2005. When the club was denied the license after the 2005 season and sentenced to relegation to the second division, she remained loyal to her club, which has now been renamed Asker FK. After only one year, she rose again with her team and reached the cup final again in 2007. There she and her team lost to Kolbotn IL .
After the end of the season she moved to the German Bundesliga club 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . She made her debut for the "Turbines" on November 25, 2007 in the DFB Cup round of 16 at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr . She won her first title in Germany on January 12, 2008 with the DFB indoor cup . She made her Bundesliga debut on February 24, 2008 against Hamburger SV . Her first Bundesliga goal followed on June 1, 2008, when she converted a free kick directly into the game at Bayern Munich . On January 24, 2009, she and her team won the DFB Indoor Cup again and became German champion at the end of the season. At the beginning of February 2010 she moved to 1. FFC Frankfurt, which she left again at the end of the season and signed a contract with VfL Wolfsburg. After the 2011/2012 season she returned to her Norwegian homeland after a detour to the Canadian W-League participant Ottawa Fury and played for Stabæk FK until the end of 2013 . The end of her contract with Stabæk was overshadowed by Larsen Kaurin's allegations against her club coach Øyvind Eide for sexual harassment.
National player
With the Norwegian national team, she took part in the 2007 World Cup in the People's Republic of China , where she finished fourth. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , she reached the quarter-finals with Norway. Kaurin had three appearances at the European Women's Football Championship in Finland in 2009 and reached the semi-finals with her team . She was appointed to the squad for the World Cup in Germany . In the preliminary round from the Norwegian team, she was used in two games.
