Silje Vesterbekkmo (born June 22, 1983 in Mosjøen ) is a Norwegian former football goalkeeper . The goalkeeper was last under contract with the Norwegian first division newcomer Grand Bodø IK in 2017 and occasionally played for the Norwegian national team from 2013 to 2015 .
Career
societies
Vesterbekkmo started her career at Grand Bodø IK . In 2001 she moved to the first division club Kolbotn IL . After only one year, she moved to Røa IL and became Norwegian champion in 2004 . With Røa she took on the UEFA Women's Cup 2005/06 , but failed in the first qualifying round to Valur Reykjavík . When her youth club rose to the top in 2006, she returned to him. The club got down immediately and Vesterbekkmo moved to IF Fløya . But she only came to use in 2008. From 2009 to 2011 she was not used. In 2011 she moved to Medkila IL and after their relegation again to Røa IL. There she was the goalkeeper until the end of the 2016 season. Then she moved to the first division newcomer Grand Bodø IK, where she only played two games in 2017.
National teams
In 2001 she took part with the U-18 team in the last U-18 European Championship , which took place in Norway, but lost 3-2 in the final against Germany. In 2002 she took part in the U-19 European Championship , where Norway was eliminated in the group stage. After that, her international career stalled. But she refused to play for the junior teams at times. In August 2005 she did not want to play for the U-21 national team, which she justified by saying that it was nobody's business, whether she played in the U-21 national team and other players didn't want her on the team either. In April 2006 she refused to play for the senior national team, since she had tried several times without success to play for the senior team, but was never set up. She justified her waiver with the fact that she did not believe that she could spare time for the senior national team.
It was not until 11 years after her last game for the U-19 team that she played for the Norwegian national women 's team on April 6, 2013 at the age of almost 30 . It was then nominated for the EM 2013 , but not used. In 2014 she took part in the Algarve Cup 2014 and came to a mission. A year later, two appearances at the Algarve Cup in 2015 followed . In May 2015 she was also nominated for the 2015 World Cup. As the third goalkeeper, she remained there without any use.
