Idrettsklubben Grand Bodø (short: Grand Bodø IK) is a Norwegian sports club from Bodø . The association was founded on April 12, 1917 . The club's flagship is the women's football department.

history

The club was founded as Grand IK. In 1986, the women's team won the Northern Norwegian championship and finished third of four places in the finals. Thus, the team qualified for the single-track first division, which began playing in 1987. After the first season, however, came relegation. In 1990 the association, which now bears its current name, returned for three years. Sixth place from the 1991 season is still the best ranking today. At that time Heidi Eivik became the club's first and to this day only national player . In 1995 and 2000 the club gave annual guest performances in the upper house. While there was no chance the first time around, only one point was missing to keep up in the 2000 season. In 2006, the team made it to the top series again, but had to relegate again after a year.

The men played in the second division at times in the eighties . After the descent in 1986, however, things went steeply downhill. Today the team is only fifth class.
