Idrettsforeningen Fløya (short: IF Fløya) is a football club from Tromsø ( Norway ). The first women's football -Mannschaft playing since relegation from the highest Norwegian league 's top series in 2010 only second-rate in the first divisjon kvinner .

history

IF Fløya was founded on June 22, 1922. In 1936 the first men's team won the Northern Norwegian Championship. Today the team plays in the third division.

The women of IF Fløya first rose to the top in 1989 and became the elevator crew in the following years. The first foray into the top division lasted only a year. The second promotion followed in 1992 and the team was then able to stay in the upper house for two years. The third ascent was celebrated in 1997, but again after a year the descent had to be accepted. The fourth and last ascent so far was made in 2002. This time you could establish yourself in the league. In 2004 and 2005 they took third place in the final ranking.

The home games are played by both women and men in the "Fløyabanen" stadium. The club colors are green and white. The women's team is coached by Jan Erik Bjerk.
