Even Jostein Pellerud (born July 15, 1953 ) is a Norwegian football coach and former player . Most recently, he coached the Norwegian national women's team from January 2013 to June 2015 . He is the only national coach to have coached two teams ( Canada and Norway ) more than 100 games each and the national coach who has coached most of the international women's national team matches .

Career

As a player, Pellerud was employed at Vålerenga Oslo from 1974 to 1979 and at Kongsvinger IL from 1983 to 1986 .

In 1989 he took over as coach of Norway's women's national team . At the European Championships in 1993 he won the title with them. He had previously reached the final with them in 1991. At the EM 1995 Norway was eliminated in the semi-finals. He celebrated his greatest success by winning the 1995 World Cup . After winning the bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics , he left the team.

In 1999, Pellerud took over Canada's women's national team , which he led to their greatest success to date with fourth place at the 2003 World Cup . In the summer of 2008 he led Canada to participate in the Olympic Games for the first time. From 2009 to 2012 he was the coach of the Trinidad and Tobago women's team . In 2013 he took over the team from his home country again and led them to the final at the 2013 European Championships . The team failed there but defending champion Germany and Nadine Angerer , who was able to save two penalties for the Norwegian players. At the 2015 World Cup , the team failed in the round of 16 against England , who would later be third, and missed qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games . He then resigned from his post in August 2015.
