Marit Helene Fiane Grødum (born December 11, 1980 in Vestby ) as Marit Helene Fiane Christensen is a Norwegian soccer player who plays for Amazon Grimstad FK in the Norwegian Toppserien . She is a member of the Norwegian national women's soccer team , where she made her debut on March 16, 2003 against the USA.
Career
society
She started her career as a youth player at Halsen IF, a local club in Larvik. When the two women's teams from Halsen IF and Nanset IF came together to form a club called FK Larvik, Marit Fiane Christensen became one of the club's most important players. In 2000 she and the club made his debut in the top Norwegian league top series . Marit Fiane Christensen scored a goal but couldn't help avoid the club's relegation. In 2002 FK Larvik and Fiane Christensen returned to the top series. Although FK Larvik was able to avoid relegation from the top series, Fiane Christensen moved to league rivals Asker SK . The stay in Asker was short, because only a year later Fiane Christensen made her way further east and ended up in Røa, where she played until 2010. Marit Fiane Christensen turned out to be crucial for the club. In her first season in Røa, her team won the double (champions, cup winners). In the next few years Fiane Christensen won the league and the cup two more times with Røa. For the 2011 season she then moved to Amazon Grimstad FK where she still plays today.
National team
Fiane Christensen also became an important part of the national team. She scored her first goal for Norway on July 24, 2004 in a game against the Swedish women's national soccer team. She was part of the squad for the 2005 and 2013 European Championships , in which Norway lost the finals against Germany and won silver. She was also part of the team for the 2003 , 2007 Women's World Cup and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
On October 21, 2008, after 62 games with 7 goals for the national team, Fiane Christensen and four other Røa players ( Marie Knutsen , Guro Knutsen Mienna , Lene Mykjåland and Siri Nordby ) resigned from the national team due to problems with the national team leadership. The decision to withdraw from the team was taken as a boycott in many newspapers and attracted media attention. Somewhat involuntarily, Marit Christensen Fiane became the spokeswoman for the five players, especially in a TV debate with the Norwegian Football Association and coach Bjarne Berntsen. In January 2009 the problem appeared to be resolved when the then coach Bjarne Berntsen was relieved of the position of head coach and a new head coach for the national team, Eli Landsem , was appointed. Fiane Christensen was brought back to the national team by the new head coach in December 2009 for the games against the Chinese women's national soccer team and the English women's national soccer team in La Manga (Spain) in January 2010.
