Bianca Taylor Ryan (* 1. September 1994 ) is an American singer from Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , which the NBC -Talentwettbewerb America's Got Talent won in the first season. Ryan's first CD Bianca Ryan was released on November 14, 2006 and landed in the American Top 200 at number 57.

Life

Bianca Ryan is the second of four children to Shawn and Janette Ryan and is half Irish on her father's side and half Japanese on her mother's side . Ryan has an older brother named Shawn and two younger siblings named Isabella and Jagger.

At the age of eight, Ryan developed a taste for rhythm and blues and gospel . In addition, her parents noticed that she has an exceptional voice. From then on she practiced in the basement of her parents' house. Ryan counts Yolanda Adams , Mariah Carey , Kelly Clarkson , Jennifer Hudson and Patti LaBelle among her favorite singers.

Career

First appearances / acting career

Bianca Ryan began performing as a tap dancer . She surprised her parents when the nine-year-old announced that she was going to audition for Star Search in 2003 . She sang The Impossible Dream from The Man from La Mancha (musical) , got twelve stars from the jury and narrowly missed the win. Ryan also appeared on Showtime at the Apollo and The Tom Joyner Show . Her television appearances have included commercials for the Chuck E. Cheese fast food restaurant and the Philadelphia Zoo.

America's Got Talent

While searching the internet for singing competitions in 2006, Ryan discovered that an American Idol judge , Simon Cowell , was executive producer on a new competition called America's Got Talent .

For her first audition, she chose Bill Condon's Dreamgirls melody And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going , originally sung by Jennifer Holiday. She left both the audience and the judges speechless with her powerful voice. Brandy Norwood gave Ryan a standing ovation and called her "my favorite contestant in the competition . " Piers Morgan commented:

“Change your hairstyle, change your clothes, change your shoes, and you will win this competition. [...] You came on stage and blew us away. "

The third jury member, David Hasselhoff , called on the audience to give a standing ovation .

Debut CD

On August 24, 2006, Ryan announced on her website that she had flown to New York to meet with representatives from a major music publisher and some of the best composers and songwriters. The Northeast Times reported on the same day that Ryan was meeting Grammy Award producer David Foster and being managed by Peter Rudge .

The following month, Ryan was in Los Angeles to record her first CD with covers of The Rose and R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly and original songs like I Wish That and Pray for a Better Day . The Bianca Ryan album was released on November 14, 2006 in the United States. It sold 44,230 times on the first day. Eight days later, the album landed at number 57 on the US Top 200 Billboard Album Charts . The album is now also available in Germany.

The Bianca Ryan album is the first of five signed record deals . Ryan is the first US woman to sign with Columbia Records / SYCO .

On December 12, 2007, Ryan released an exclusive Christmas album called Christmas Everyday! . However, this was only given to the "WalMart" department store chain.
