America's Got Talent ( acronym : AGT ) is an American talent show on NBC television . Any talent can be presented to the jury during the broadcast. The winner will receive one million dollars in prize money. There is no age limit to participate.
The concept of the show was developed by the British music and TV producer Simon Cowell and is marketed worldwide as Got Talent and has already been produced in more than 50 regions. America's Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and SYCO Television , Cowell's production company. The first season of the show started on June 21, 2006, and since then the seasons have been broadcast annually.
Jury and moderation
During the seventh season, the jury consisted of Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and Howard Stern. Osbourne announced in 2012 that she was no longer available for the eighth season (2013). On February 20, 2013, Entertainment Weekly reported that singer Mel B will take Osbourne's place on the jury from season eight. In the same article it was also announced that the jury would get a fourth member from 2013, as has been the case with Britain's Got Talent since 2012. On March 4, 2013, the People Magazine website announced that Heidi Klum would become the fourth jury member for the eighth season. As posted on America's Got Talent Facebook page on November 20, 2013 , all four season eight jurors will return for season ninth in the summer of 2014. In the finale of the tenth season, Howard Stern announced that he would no longer serve as a juror. He was replaced by Simon Cowell in the eleventh season.
The first season of the show hosted Regis Philbin , for the second and third seasons he was replaced by Jerry Springer . After season three, it was announced that Springer would not be returning for a fourth season because he wanted to focus on his talk show ( The Jerry Springer Show ) as well as a role in a play. From the fourth season, Nick Cannon moderated the show until he decided to leave the show due to a dispute with NBC. From the twelfth season, Tyra Banks took over the moderation. For the fourteenth season (started on May 28, 2019), Tyra Banks was replaced by comedian Terry Crews at her own request . In addition, Heidi Klum is replaced by Julianne Hough and Mel B. (touring with the Spice Girls ) by Gabrielle Union due to time problems . In the 15th season (2020) Heidi Klum is returning to the jury after a one-year break, when " Modern Family " star Sofía Vergara has been appointed as the new juror .

In 2016, the Austrian magicians Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass took second place under the name The Clairvoyants . In 2018, the Vorarlberg acrobat group Zurcaroh also came second.
International versions
Local adaptations of Got Talent have been produced in over 50 areas . The British version, Britain's Got Talent , is regarded as the original and model for the offshoots. The German adaptation is called Das Supertalent and has been broadcast on RTL since 2007 . In Switzerland, four seasons of The greatest Swiss Talents have been broadcast on SRF 1 since 2011 .
