Shin Lim

Shin Lim (born September 25, 1991 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian - American magician and card artist .

Lim was born in Canada in 1991 to parents from Singapore . He is of Han Chinese descent. The family moved back to Singapore when Lim was two years old and moved to Acton , Massachusetts in the United States when Lim was eleven years old. Lim began playing the violin and piano before he was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in 2011 . He then turned to magic and card tricks.

He gained notoriety in 2018 for his victory in the 13th season of America's Got Talent . A year later he also won the subsidiary America's Got Talent: The Champions .
