Kirsi Heikkinen

Kirsi Heikkinen (* 26. September 1978 in Espoo as Kirsi Savolainen ) is a Finnish football referee .
Heikkinen has been a soccer referee since 1998 and has been directing international matches since 2002. In Finland it is used for women in the Naisten Liiga (highest division) and for men in the Ykkönen (second highest division). Heikkinen works full-time as a teacher .
In 2007 she directed the final of the U-19 European Championship between Germany and England. At the 2009 European Championship , Heikkinen headed four games, including the semifinals between Germany and Norway .
A year later, Heikkinen was used in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League between Olympique Lyon and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam .
FIFA nominated Heikkinen for the 2011 World Cup in Germany . She headed the two preliminary round matches Japan against New Zealand and France against Germany as well as the semi-finals USA against France. While she dealt a total of five yellow cards plus one red card against the French goalkeeper Sapowicz in the match between France and Germany , she got by with a single yellow card in the semifinals.
In 2012 she was nominated for the soccer tournament at the Olympic Games and came in two games, u. a. in the quarter-finals between Brazil and Japan as main referee and in two games as fourth official.
She was also nominated for the 2013 European Women's Football Championship , where she led the preliminary round matches Iceland against Germany and France against England , as well as the quarter-final game Sweden against Iceland .
