The women's football department of the sports club Rayo Vallecano from the Spanish capital Madrid has existed since 2000.
history
Rayo's women's team rose to the first Spanish division in 2003 and experienced a phase of success between 2008 and 2011 with three championship titles and a cup victory. It reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Women's Champions League in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons.
