The women's division of the soccer club Real Sociedad San Sebastián (officially: Real Sociedad de Fútbol ) from Spain was founded in 2004 and has been playing first class since 2006.

In the first two years after it was founded, the Real Sociedad women's team made it through from the Regionalliga to the Primera División Femenina . As with the men, the club is the second force in the Basque Country behind its rival Athletic Club from Bilbao for women . In the Baskenderby of the second half of the 2018/19 league (final score 2-2), Real hosted the record crowd of on February 10, 2019 21,234 spectators at the Estadio Anoeta .

The players achieved their greatest title success to date by winning the Copa de la Reina of the 2018/19 season, with a 2-1 victory in the final against the favored players of Atlético Madrid on May 11, 2019 at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in Granada . The two goals for victory were scored by Kiana Palacios and Nahikari García after the intermittent 0-1 deficit.
