Career

society

Kasami began his career in 2003 with the Swiss club FC Winterthur . After three years he moved to Grasshopper Club Zurich , which loaned him to the English club Liverpool FC in 2008 . In 2009, at the age of 16, he was transferred to Lazio Rome .

In March 2010, Kasami started his professional career with the Swiss AC Bellinzona . After six months, he signed a five-year contract with the Italian first division club US Palermo . With the Sicilians he played against NK Maribor in the Europa League for the first time on an international level. He made his Serie A debut on August 30, 2010 against Cagliari Calcio . This was followed by 13 more appearances in the league. After a year he moved to the English Premier League for Fulham FC in London , where he signed a contract until 2015. He was loaned from FC Fulham for the second half of the 2012/13 season to the Swiss Super League club FC Luzern . After Kasami had become a regular in Fulham in the 2013/14 season, he moved to Olympiacos in the summer of 2014 . With Piraeus he was Greek champion in both 2015 and 2016. For the 2016/17 season he switched to the second highest English league on loan to Nottingham Forest . In summer 2017 he moved to FC Sion in Switzerland. On March 18, 2020, he was terminated without notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

National team

Kasami's parents come from Macedonia and belonged to the Albanian minority there. He would therefore have been eligible to play for the Macedonian Association , but decided to play for the Swiss national teams.

With the Swiss U-17 selection , Kasami won the 2009 World Cup , in which he also scored a goal. For the U-21 national team , he completed 30 games.

In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic football tournament in London with the Swiss Olympic team. He was used in all three games.

On October 15, 2013 he made his debut in the Swiss senior team against Slovenia and scored his first goal on November 15, 2013 in a friendly against South Korea . By 2016 he had completed twelve international matches and scored two goals.
