Bastien Toma (born June 24, 1999 in Sion ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with the first division club FC Sion . The multiple junior national player from Switzerland is also a Kosovar citizen.

Career

The son of Kosovan parents began at the age of nine years at local club FC Sion with the football matches . At the club from Valais, he played through all youth teams and signed his first professional contract in 2015. He made his debut for the first team in a 3-0 away defeat in the third qualifying round of the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League against the Lithuanian club Sūduva Marijampolė . On November 4, 2017, he made his league debut in a 1-1 draw against FC Zurich . Shortly after his first league appearance, Toma developed into a regular midfield player . He scored his first goal on April 29, 2018 in a 3-3 draw against FC Zurich. In the 2017/18 season , he made 21 appearances in which he was able to collect one goal and two assists.

In the 3-1 away win against FC Luzern on September 30, 2018 (9th matchday), Toma scored his first goal of the season and prepared the other two goals. In 32 league games in the 2018/19 season, he scored three goals and prepared seven more.

National team

Toma has been through various junior teams in Switzerland so far. He made his debut for the U21s on April 25, 2018, when he came on as a substitute in a 2-1 friendly win against France in the closing stages. He scored his first goal for the U-21 national team in a 4-1 win against Croatia .
