In 1924 Sundbybergs IK was one of the founding members of Division 2 , the second highest division in Sweden. With three points behind Westermalms IF , the team was runner-up and missed the promotion. Also in the following season they finished second behind the club from Stockholm. After a fourth place in 1927, the runner-up again succeeded in the following season - also in the third case Westermalms IF was champions of the second division season.

In 1929/30 the team could only celebrate two wins of the season and had to relegate to the third division as bottom of the table together with Köpings IS and manifested its reputation as an elevator team between the second and third level in the following years . The direct rise was missed as runner-up behind Djurgårdens IF . In 1933, the third division champions returned to the second division. Between 1936 and 1939, the team changed steadily between the second and third division, before the direct re-emergence as third in the table was missed in 1939 and the team could not return to the second division until 1940. There the team fought against relegation, which in 1943, when the team remained without a win of the season, could no longer be avoided.

In the third division get 14 wins this season and the team from Sundbybergs IK qualified for the promotion games in which Hofors AIF was the opponent. After a 7: 4 away win, the club made it clear to be promoted again with a 3: 2 home win. In 1946, however, the team had to relegate again with one point behind Karlskoga IF and missed the direct return due to two defeats against IF Verdandi in the promotion games of the following season. A year later, the team was third division champions before BK Kenty and BK Derby and managed to return.

In 1949 Sundbybergs IK was third in the table, but in the following season the elevator team call was again fair and accompanied Reymersholms IK , who was also three points behind Sandvikens AIK , in the third division. There the two clubs were passed through to the fourth division together with BK Star . In 1955 the team returned to the third division.

In the following years Sundbybergs IK was able to establish itself in the third division. In 1959, one point behind Södertälje SK, they finished second and a year later the team returned to the second division as third division champions. There the club knew how to surprise and came third behind Djurgårdens IF and IFK Stockholm . In the following years, places in the front area were also occupied, only towards the end of the 1960s it went downhill again. In 1968 they finished seventh, a year later the season ended on a relegation zone.

1976 Sundbybergs IK rose again from the fourth division. In 1984 the team became champions there and returned to the third division. In 1987, the team picked up only twelve points and rose again from bottom of the table in the fourth division, where a relegation place was again occupied and the club was thus passed into the fifth division. In 1997, the team was relegated to the sixth division, but managed to get promoted again immediately. As a runner-up behind Essinge IK you missed the march into the fourth division. A year later, the team prevailed without defeat in the promotion games and was fourth class again. In 2002, however, they got down again and escaped the march into the sixth division the following year only thanks to the better goal difference.

At the end of 2005, the team fell victim to a league reform in Swedish football and got into the sixth division. So far, places in the middle of the table have been taken there.

Women's soccer

The Sundbybergs IK women's soccer team won the Division 1 championship in 1999 and was promoted to the Damallsvenskan . However, 15 points were not enough at the end of the season in the Swedish House of Lords, three points behind the last non-relegation place occupied by BK Kenty. After the 2001 season, the team had to cancel the game due to a lack of players. In the following season, the team was re-established with young players.

Bandy

The bandy team, founded in 1908, played three seasons in the first division. In the first two seasons, 1948 and 1951, the team remained without a win of the season and rose directly from bottom of the table. In the third season in 1953, the first - and so far only - victory in the House of Lords was achieved. Therefore, the team only finished last this season.

ice Hockey

The club's ice hockey department took part several times in the 1940s and 1950s in the Swedish championship , which was then still held in cup mode .
